INTERNATIONAL streaming platform Audiomack has officially launched Audiomack House.
The music platform hosted it’s official first Audiomack House party on Sunday, 5 March in Braamfontein, Joburg.
David Ponte, the company’s co-founder and CMO spoke to SunBuzz about bringing the streaming platform to Africa.
“We are bringing it here because we want to gain more fans and for our listeners to gain more artists not only in South Africa, but around the world as well. What makes us different is that we focus on the artists who are marginalised and that’s our mission.

“However, we don’t just want to discover emerging artists, but new sounds and culture that we feel reflects the longevity of music in that place,” said David.
The launch party was headlined by Uncle Waffles and DBN Gogo and speaking about it, David said: “It was a crazy party with amazing energy. It’s the first Audiomack House party and we decided to have it here. We are planning on taking the event to Africa and eventually to Europe and America.”
The New York-born David said he is happy to finally come to Mzansi and see amapiano musicians live.
“I’m currently obsessed with amapiano and I say that with all seriousness. It’s been a dream of mine to come to Jozi and see the best amapiano musicians playing, and I’m happy to have finally experience that.
“South Africa is a burgeoning music scene that’s different from everywhere in the world. There are multiple genres of music here that are unique and our mission is to take that and spread it around the world,” he said.

David said they will still do more with their streaming platform.
“We want to grow in the country and we have a lot to offer creators. We think if you’re a big music fan and are interested in finding music that will be popular in future, Audiomack is the place to be," he said.
