AFROBEATS lovers are in for a treat this weekend.
Nigerian artists Omah Lay and Adekunle Gold will take the stage in Mzansi.
Amstel has revealed that these two Afrobeats superstars will headline the two-day Friends of Amstel premium lifestyle experience on 11 and 12 November, in Joburg.
Alicia Reddy, senior brand manager for Heineken Beverages, said the show is more than just an event.
“Some of the biggest acts in Africa are to collaborate with the most talented up-and-coming musicians in the country. It’s all about cutting-edge new music and pushing the boundaries of culture and lifestyle,” she said.
Reddy explained why they decided to make it a two-day event.

“Due to the success of our previous events and the high demand for tickets, one day was just not enough. We’ve upped the ante this year by hosting a two-day festival headlined by not one, but two international artists,” she said.
She said the event is also aimed at uniting people with music.
“It is an opportunity to bring people together as a broader music-loving community and kickstart the festive season with this two-day unforgettable premium experience,” said Reddy.
She said they are excited about the event and can’t wait for everyone to become friends.
Reddy said featuring acts like Omah Lay, Adekunle Gold, and local music game-changers, the event serves as a platform where international acts draw inspiration from the vibrant and timeless sounds created.
The event celebrates good music and the forging of lasting friendships through artistic expression.
