Tasha Cobbs Leonard will no longer perform in Durban.

AMERICAN multi-award-winning gospel sensation Tasha Cobbs Leonard's Durban show has been cancelled.

This has left many gospel fans disappointed and frustrated.

Tasha has expressed her disappointment and accused the promoter of not doing what he promised.

The Durban show was scheduled to take place at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, 23 September.

Tasha is in South Africa for shows in Tshwane on 21 September and Cape Town 22 September.

Disappointed Tasha took to Instagram to express her disappointment.

“Hi family, I'm currently in South Africa. We are in Pretoria ‘Johannesburg’ tonight and we will be heading to Cape Town. I’m so disappointed and so sad about the Durban show which has been cancelled by the promoter. I have seen your comments and DMs.

“I too am just as disappointed. I was super excited to come to Durban, as we’ve been looking forward to this, all of us, for years. Due to the promoter not upholding his end, and his promises that he made, things such as booking hotels for my team or flights for my team, so that we’re able to get to you, were just not done.

“From my heart to yours, I want to share the truth as to why we are in South Africa but not coming to Durban and it is well beyond what we’re in control of. There is a team of people here who are prepared to serve you to worship with you and what we know is that the promoter has not done what he promised to do, and we are unable to get to you in Durban.

“I love you so much and I pray that we are able to make it to you and that we worship together very soon”, she said.

Mzansi gospel star Thinah Zungu who was scheduled to share the stage with Tasha on Saturday said it was painful the show has been cancelled.

“The pain I feel the most is for my band because they get paid per event and this means about ten families will also lose because I have cancelled other booking for this,” he said.

Event organiser Buti Elliot Mthembu told Daily Sun he doesn't want to comment on the matter because he doesn't want to fight with Tasha in the name of gospel and Jesus.

“We will release a statement about the matter in due course. I have heard Tasha's statement, and I respect her and for now I won’t comment,” he said.
