IT seems Mzansi has a long way to go in getting the two accused in the AKA and Tibz murder case back in South Africa to face the music.
A bid by South Africa for the extradition of the Ndimande brothers to Mzansi so they can join the five other accused in the Durban Magistrates Court on 2 May was halted.
This after the legal team representing the Ndimande brothers, Siyabonga and Melusi, who are detained in Eswatini, filed a notice to oppose the application for their extradition to Mzansi.
The Ndimande brothers appeared in the Manzini Magistrates Court in Eswatini on Tuesday, 9 April, and the matter was postponed to 14 May for arguments to be heard by the court.
South Africa filed a 254-page extradition application in the Manzini Magistrates Court on 18 March 2024 in a bid to bring the brothers back.
The brothers appeared in same court on 20 March and the case was postponed to 9 April as their legal team needed time to go through the 254-page extradition application papers.

The two were arrested by Eswatini cops while they were allegedly hiding in the country. They face charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder in the case of Kiernan "AKA" Forbes and Tebello "Tibz" Motsoane.
If the extradition is finally granted, the two accused will come to Mzansi to join the five others, Lindokuhle Mkhwanazi (30) Lindani Ndimande (35), Siyanda Myeza (21), Mziwethemba Gwabeni (36) and Lindokuhle Ndimande (29), who are already applying for bail in the Durban Magistrates Court.
Charges of money laundering were also added to their charges of murder, attempted murder, possession of illegal firearms and ammunition and conspiracy to commit murder.
The state already has opposed their bail application, and they have responded to the state and their case will be back on 2 May in the Durban Magistrates Court.
AKA and Tibz were gunned down outside the Wish on Florida in Durban on 10 February 2023.
