THE murder case of AKA and Tibz will be back in the Durban Magistrates Court on Monday, 8 April.
Accused Lindani Ndimande (35) and accused four, Mziwethemba Gwabeni (36), who has been identified as the coordinator of the hit, are expected to respond to investigating officer Detective Kumarasan Pillay’s affidavit.
On Wednesday, 27 March, Pillay's affidavit was read in court to oppose the bail application of the five accused.
Five suspects, Lindokuhle Mkhwanazi (30), Ndimande (35), Siyanda Myeza (21), Gwabeni (36) and Lindokuhle Ndimande (29) have been linked to the murders of AKA and Tibz.
On Tuesday, 2 April accused one, three and five responded to Pillay's affidavit. They also denied their involvement in the murders.
Accused number five Lindokuhle, who was identified as the spotter in Pillay's affidavit, denied being a spotter, but agreed that he was at Wish Restaurant on the day AKA and Tibz were gunned down.
He said he was at the restaurant waiting for his girlfriend for a date, but his lover never arrived.

“I, however, realising that the clock was ticking while at Wish Restaurant and the lady was not coming. I kept calling her and she kept on promising that she would definitely come.
“I dispute any notion that I was a spotter as I was not even aware that the first deceased was also around. It was shortly after the gunshot had seized that I heard there was shooting outside and that one of the victims was Mr AKA. I did not know anything about the shooting,” he said.
Lindokuhle also agreed that he opened a Standard Bank account on 10 February 2023, the day AKA and Tibz were shot dead, but he said it was a coincidence.
He also agreed that on that day, he was paid by accused number four, Gwabeni.
“I don’t dispute that for work I rendered without being paid over a period of time, that time I was eventually paid R100 000 by the fourth applicant,” he said.
