THE extradition application to bring two suspects who were arrested in Eswatini accused of being involved in rapper AKA's murder to Mzansi has been postponed to Tuesday, 12 March.
The suspects, Siyabonga Ndimande and Melusi Ndimane, appeared in the Manzini Magistrates Court in Eswatini on Tuesday, 5 March.
The two will be remanded in custody pending the lodging of the formal extradition application by South Africa.
The Eswatini court is still waiting for the formal court papers from Mzansi for the formal extradition of these two suspects.
The two suspects were arrested with four different cellphones, and they were seized by eSwatini police.
The Eswatini prosecutor, Macebo Nxumalo, applied for the detention of the cellphones by the police to Magistrate David Khumalo, allowing for a provisional detention of the cellphones.
The two suspects' lawyer, Sivesonke Ngwenya, said they are also raising their condition for the suspect's extradition as the defence.
"Our biggest concern in this event is that we are concerned about the safety of our clients because extradition is a process, and requirements have to be made. I cannot divulge much into the details because, as of now, we have not received a formal application.

"But in the event where we will get the application, we will know the conditions to attach to demand the request," he said.
He said they are still waiting for the application, and he has been insisting and consistently highlighting that they have challenges in terms of the application.
"So, the director for the prosecution has made a statement in court today that they are still waiting for the application, and we are still waiting for the application.
"At this point in time, we can move forward because we don't have the state application," he said.
