THE National Film Authority of Ghana recently announced a strategic partnership with FilmOne Group (Nigeria) and Silverbird Cinema (Ghana) to host the inaugural Africa Cinema Summit (ACS).
The event will take place from 14 to 16 November at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel and Silverbird Cinema in Accra, Ghana.
The summit marks an important moment in the history of the African film industry.
Mzansi filmmakers and cinema operators will participate in a transformative event that will not only showcase creative pathways, but also foster collaborations across the African continent.
Juliet Yaa Asantewaa Asante, convener of the Africa Cinema Summit, said: "Beyond a mere gathering, this is a movement that will redefine the future of African cinema, uniting creative forces across borders.
"This is the dawn of an interconnected era. The Africa Cinema Summit is a pivotal platform for African creatives to reshape our narrative, drive economic growth, and etch an indelible mark on the global stage."

Kene Okwuosa, the leader behind Nigeria's Filmhouse Group, said: "The Africa Cinema Summit is the spark that will amplify our narratives and drive economic growth, paving the way for creative partnerships to thrive."
According to media consultant Yomi Owope, the summit bridges geographical distances, it also strengthens the connection in the Sub-Saharan African region, providing a platform for East, West and Southern African cinemas to unite.
"This synergy creates an inspiring opportunity for South African filmmakers to learn from West Africa's unique strategies, contributing to a dynamic exchange of ideas that propel growth in the cinema sector."
