ACTRESS, author and Poet Luleka Mhlanzi (31) from Pietermaritzburg in KZN is set to host a one-woman show.
Conversing Kingdoms will take place at Hexagon Theatre in Pietermaritzburg on Saturday, 26 August 2023.
"This show tells the life of a young woman who tries to balance her life between society, marriage, self-identity and parenthood. We explore her emotions and her eagerness to find a spiritual balance between femininity and masculinity in this space and time," she said.
"We're doing this event to acknowledge and embrace womanhood. Also, to analyse and understand women."
The show will begin with a pantsula dance piece, poetry, and a music session.
All the poems will be performed by Luleka, accompanied by a band consisting of a djembe drummer, a bass guitarist, three vocalists, an mbira player and a marimba player.
She said her project will also collaborate with visual artists and crafters who employ culture in their artworks.
