Ifalakhe actress Ntokozo Ngcobo wants to change lives.

AUTHOR, poet and actress Ntokozo Ngcobo (33) from eLovu, south of Durban, is set to start her book tour.

The book is titled Amaloba The Traces. Its tour will start off with an inaugural meeting, which is set to take place on Saturday, 26 August, at the Anew Hotel Highveld in Emalahleni.

Ntokozo, who's acted on Showmax's Ifalakhe and Good Men on SABC1, described the book as "a very interesting collection of poetry. It takes you on a compelling journey, covering a multitude of themes from love to grief, humanity, culture, resilience and optimism, but most importantly covers sections on youth and women empowerment which are urgent topics in a world where we lose so much of ourselves trying to be what society expects us to be and beyond.

"This book is the best tool to use when looking to find your self-worth and purpose and is highly essential for primary, high school and university students to read. This initiative serves as a vehicle to leaving profound footprints and a legacy for the next generations to come," said Ntokozo.

She said that the tour is a ground-breaking, literary touring book project for book lovers.

Ntokozo told Daily Sun the tour will create a platform for the book to reach a much wider market and authors to reconnect and network through facilitating literary workshops with aspiring youth writers in urban and rural communities.

Ntokozo said that the workshop would tour all provinces and cover different literary genres such as poetry, short stories and storytelling.

The tour will also allow the readers in schools and communities an opportunity to get to know the authors behind their literary works.

"The vision I had when I came up with this initiative was to make literature a livable and profitable commercial industry within the entertainment sector. The aim was to ignite a lifelong passion for reading and writing while readers also found new books to read.

"This workshop will help rural and urban youth with better literary skills such as communication while giving them confidence and assurance in their academics and a better future," she said.

The likes of actress and fellow writers Ayanda Borotho, Thulani "Yeyeye" Gumede, Sibongimpilo Ngobe, Ps Mthobisi Makhathini, actress Sibongimpilo Ngobe will be part of the first meeting.
