A MANSION in Limpopo was in the spotlight on Sunday.

A Twitter user posted a photo of the mansion and claimed it belonged to EFF deputy president Floyd Shivambu.

But a businessman said the house belonged to him, not Shivambu.

“This is my house. I was born and raised in the same village. I’m just a businessman,”

Boyki Maapea (58) said he won’t entertain childishness.

“This is my house. I was born and raised in the same village. I’m just a businessman,” he said.

“People are sending out wrong information with the aim of discrediting politicians.”

READ: ‘GIVE ME THE KEYS TO THE HOUSE!’

Shivambu hit back at the Twitter user and responded to the photo, which was captioned: “Know your politician. This is Floyd Shivambu’s house, deputy president of the EFF.”

Shivambu said: “So where’s the house? When are you giving me keys, now that you gave me a house?”

Many social media users came out in Shivambu’s defence.

  • Franco Francose said: “This house is in Burgersfort, Manyaka Village, next to Marula Platinum Mine. It’s owned by Barta.”
  • Roque Assassin said: “This house is in Ga-Manyaka Village, 40km from Burgersfort on the R37 next to Marula Platinum Mine. The house is owned by a businessman.”

Shivambu’s phone rang unanswered.
