TRIPLE threat Anele “Ney The Bae” Zondo has added something else to her impressive list of talents as she pursues a career in the music industry.
The actress, TV presenter and model is in studio, working on her first music project.
She spoke to Daily Sun about her new journey.
Ney said she always knew that she would eventually start making music.
“Music is part of my blood, it’s me. Yes, we all enjoy music but from a young age, my dad introduced me to music and he’d make us listen to the lyrics and recite them. I’ve always been in choirs, always sang,” she said.
“It’s always been part of the plan. I’ve been in music videos. So, I’m very excited that I’m here and I’m very shocked about the reception I’m getting from people. Everybody is saying this makes sense,” said the star.
Ney said she will use her music to tell her stories.

“I’m very private, but I decided that if I am going to tell my story, I will tell it my way and how I want people to receive it, in the most honest way. I don’t want people making stories about me. I had two options, either I do music or write a book. I decided on making music,” said Ney.
The Massive Music presenter said she’s been in studio for the past year.
“I haven’t been doing this music thing for a long time, I’ve been in studio for a little over 12 months. I’m still a baby, but it all feels natural. Music has been such a different thing for me, I can’t believe I’m not getting stage fright like I used to with presenting and acting. Music feels natural and feels like it’s something I really should be doing,” she said.
When asked when she’ll finally release her debut single or album, she said: “Soon, I’ve been hounded every day with people asking when I’ll be releasing music. I’m planning to release an experimental project. I’ll call it a YP, Young Project.
“It’s different experimental sounds, it’s got a bit of Afrobeats, amapiano, dance music and more. We have added a bit of everything so people see my full potential. It’s very experimental and I believe that no one in the South African music game has done what I’m about to do. I’m very excited about it. I’m not comparing myself to anyone but I believe that I’m doing something different,” said Ney.
