RAPPER Big Zulu is hungry for success.

The Ama Million hitmaker told SunBuzz he’s already preparing to shoot season 3 of his SABC1 show, One Mic.

“The aim of the show is to scout and find new talent. It’s to expose young talent to the public.

“Currently, there’s a shortage of young rappers.

“This has to change. We need to open the industry and offer opportunities to up-and-coming stars.”

According to the rapper, the shoot will take place over the next three months.

His next big project will be the launch of his recording label, Inkabi Rap Records.

“Inkabi has been in existence for a year. This year, I’m launching it formally,” he said.

“I started this company because I didn’t want to be under someone else’s record label. I wanted to do my own thing, which I call ushuni wenkani,” he said. “This is where I show my uniqueness.”

He said local record labels have a tendency to change artists’ style of music.

“That destroys you as an artist. I’m glad that since I started this company, I’ve been able to release the successful album titled uNgqongqosheWongqongqoshe,” he said.

“I’ve worked with various artists including Ntsiki Mazwai, Cassper Nyovest and Imfezi Emnyama among others.

“This album is about things I relate to and express myself in,” said Big Zulu.

“My first album, Ushuni Wenkani, was released in 2018. This year, the aim is to release more music under my own label.

“I’m also glad last year was a successful year. Hopefully, 2020 is going to treat me even better.

“I can also tell you I have work ready to be released anytime soon. I shall also be scouting for and developing new talent. This is because I strongly believe in helping young people.

“I do this because I was also helped by others when I first entered the music industry.”
