Matthew 8:7-8 says: “I will go and heal him,” Jesus replied. The centurion answered, “Lord, I am not worthy to have You come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell one to go, and he goes; and another to come, and he comes. I tell my servant to do something, and he does it.”
In the scripture passage above we learn from a mighty ruler that power and authority is expressed through words. This means that words are not to be used foolishly because they are an expression of our personality. One of the centurion’s trusted servants was sick and did not want to lose this useful servant.
The Centurion understood authority and said to the Lord, only speak the word and my servant will healed.
Whatever you are going through right now needs you to speak the Word of the Lord for it to change. There was once a storm in the ocean that almost sank the boat Jesus was in. He woke up and rebuked the wind by speaking the word. Do not speak about your situation but rather speak to your situation by faith. There is power in the Word of God. Ephesians says, the word of God is active and more powerful. Speak the Word of God amidst your storms; command your situation to conform to the Word of God.
Do not just speak your mind, your emotions or fears but speak the Word of God.
