PASTOR and gospel singer Neyi Zimu has reached new heights.

His latest album, called The Waiting Is Over, will be released today.

He said that it is his first live music recording and he is over the moon about it.

Neyi, whose real name is Moses Gcinumuzi, said: “I can simply describe the sound as happy.

“Gospel lovers will enjoy it.

“It’s very inspirational and is meant to celebrate and give thanks to the Lord,” said the singer from Small Farms, Vaal.

Neyi said that The Waiting Is Over is a reflection of his new venture.

“I’ve been in the industry for a very long time and have worked as a producer, singer and songwriter.

“The new album is inspired by the fact that I am now signed under my own recording label,” Neyi told the People’s Paper.

His music career started in 1996, when he worked with groups such as Family Factory, Joyous Celebration and Spirit of Praise.

He has also shared the stage with Sibongile Khumalo, Rebecca Malope, Benjamin Dube, the late Wendy Mseleku and Vuyo Mokoena.

“The Waiting Is Over will also have a DVD, which will be released at the end of May,” said the pastor.

“The gospel industry has moved towards live recordings, so I feel that there’s no better time for me to contribute to that.

“God has finally given me a chance to do this.

“I want people to feel uplifted when they listen to my CD or when they watch the DVD.”

Neye, who is a pastor at All Nations Revival Ministries in Midrand, Gauteng is also a husband, dad and businessman.
