Celebrity hairstylist Melford Hlabola shares a simple step-by-step guide on how to get your wig laid and looking fab like celebrities, such as DJ Zinhle, Boity and Lerato Kganyago.

Step 1
Prep your hair for the wig installation. Wash and condition your hair and scalp, making sure that your hairline is cared for before installing the wig.
Step 2
Wear a wig cap to create a smooth base for your wig, ensuring that it covers your hairline and ears. To secure the wig cap, apply hairspray or hair gel and blow-dry for less than five minutes.
Step 3
Cut the wig cap using a pair of scissors to fit the shape of your head and ears.
Step 4
Apply glue along the edges of the wig cap and hairline. Do it by dotting a thin line around the hairline, and then smoothing it out with the end of a tail comb. Do not apply the glue to your hair.
Step 5
Put the wig on and adjust the edges to match the hairline. Press the front part of the wig onto your hairline so that the glue sticks to it.
Step 6
Use an elastic band or scarf around the edge of your head to hold the wig in shape and flatten the edges.
