The time to show skin is almost here, marking the time to clean out our wardrobes.

Gearing up for the hot season, it's time to bid farewell to our cozy coats and pass on items we no longer use to make space for the new season. We are pulling out all flowy floral dress, miniskirts, vests and blouses.

This season we’ll see ample fashionable staples on the streets. Diego Abba, CEO of online Italian fashion boutique Italist, tells Harper’s Bazaar that “The mood right now is hopeful but nostalgic, looking back into fashion’s archives. There’s also a focus on quality perhaps more than quantity, comfort more than razor-sharp statement pieces.”

We see trends such as chrome, silk, sheer and more still having a chokehold on the fashion world.

“This season’s transparent and semi-sheer ready-to-wear appeared all over the runways, from Bottega Veneta to Rick Owens for spring ’23. We believe it’s a theme worth investing in, because the style is more timeless than trendy,” Diego says.

Fashion stylist Troy Molaiwa gives us the 411 on how to transition your wardrobe and what will be in trend this hot season.

He says sustainable fashion, bright colours, tech-inspired fabrics and more are trends to look out for and possible add to your wardrobe.

While the look is obviously sexy because it’s sheer, the most appealing thing about it is how easy it is, though we’ve seen the sheer trend emerge will battled by the cold season we know it will be overly dominate in the warm season. The likes of Pearl Thusi, Gabriel Union and more have stunned in the semi-sheer look.

“Think of semi-sheer as a good way to look polished and ethereal, light and breezy but still put together, most appropriate when the climatic conditions are right meaning not too hot and not too cold,” says Diego.
