Seasoned actor, Vuyo Dabula, better known as Gadaffi on the SABC1 hit soapie Generations: The Legacy, has left the country’s second biggest show – for good this time.

According to an insider, the actor won’t be part of the upcoming season. “He has left the show for good this time – after a lot of back and forth. He has been with the show since 2014 and now he’s gone,” the insider tells TRUELOVE.

This is not the first time that the actor has parted ways with the show. Last year, producers gave him an ultimatum to either stay with Generations: The Legacy or continue shooting Season 2 of Netflix's Queen Sono, which was subsequently canned.

“This time, he’s definitely gone for good because he hasn’t been in studio for a while and his character has been scrapped off, which means that he won’t feature in Season 31 of the show,” reveals the insider.

Negotiations for the star to remain on the show fell flat. “There were negotiations between Vuyo and the show’s producers, but things didn't work out. This means that the show’s avid viewers won’t see him on screen anymore,” the insider says.

Generations: The Legacy’s publicist Nandipha Pantsi has confirmed Vuyo’s exit from the show. She tells TRUELOVE: “It’s true that Vuyo is no longer a part of the show and he will be greatly missed, but I can confirm that there are two new additions to the show that viewers can look forward to.”

Catch Generations: The Legacy on weekdays on SABC1 at 8pm.
