While reports have emerged that the cast and crew members of SABC2’s popular soapie, Muvhango, have been given an ultimatum by the show’s executive producer, Duma Ndlovu – to either take the vaccine or risk losing their jobs – Generations: The Legacy employees won’t be forced to vaccinate – for now.
This is despite the fact that the two shows are recorded in the same facilities at the SABC headquarters in Auckland Park.

Generations: The Legacy producer, Mfundi Vundla, tells TRUELOVE that while he encourages people to take the jab, he will wait to see how the Department of Health proceeds with regards to vaccinations. He adds that he will comply with whatever decision is made.
“We encourage everyone to vaccinate,” says the 75-year-old media mogul.
He says if health authorities demand that everyone should be vaccinated, all Morula Pictures employees would adhere to the rules.
“Should the health authorities insist on the vaccination of our people, we will ensure that this is done,” he explains.

In 2014, Mfundi fired 16 of his cast members, who boycotted the show, citing numerous grievances that were not addressed. And, since then, he has revamped the show and hired new faces.
