MULTITALENTED actor Peter Malusi Dlamini (26) from KwaMashu in Durban is flying Mzansi’s flag high.

He landed a leading role in an international film called Smashed Online.

“This is a United Kingdom film and it was shot here in South Africa and it’s already out. This is my biggest international role in the film industry. In this film, I play Mike, a young man who has no direction in life. He recruits his peers to drop out of school and join him on the streets,” said Peter.

“The film teaches people about the dangers of peer pressure.”

This is Peter’s first role in film.

“I am a qualified actor, having graduated at Creative Arts College in Durban. Throughout my life, I’ve been involved in theatre plays.

Smashed Online was my first TV role and I am glad my debut was with an international film. I am hoping to get more TV roles here in South Africa,” he said.

Peter is one of the fast growing talents in Mzansi and fans love his TikTok, Facebook and Instagram posts.

His famous phrases on social media include “Edakwa” or “Ungithethiselani pho?”

“I’ve been sharing my videos on TikTok, Facebook and Instagram. I started posting these videos two years ago, but I wasn’t getting good feedback until I decided to change content,” he said. . until I introduced new material. I realized that a lot of content creators were sharing similar content, addressing the same issues. This proved to be an obstacle for me because it meant recycling the same content. I then started posting about things affecting us as African people such as jealous ancestors. This rapidly gained popularity among my fans,” he said.

Another favourite subject among his followers is Nxethe and his son, Akusiy’owami.

“I introduced Nxethe’s family to highlight the danger of bad parenting,” he said.

. My intention is to warn parents not to use foul language or speak ill of each other especially in front of the kids because they will always bring it up at the wrong time. In all my videos I always try to be as fun as possible at the same time I’m trying to be educational,” he said.

Peter’s long-term goal is to own a production house where he can direct his films.
