The story
Former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea joined a host of gaming footballers by kickstarting his own eSports team back in 2021, a venture he's been able to place full focus on since becoming a free agent.
His team, Rebels Gaming, recently earned the support of Red Devils captain Bruno Fernandes, who was pictured wearing the new Rebels kit with de Gea.
Bruno and former Man United midfielder Juan Mata joined Rebels Gaming as shareholders.
De Gea has been an avid player of video games in his spare time for many years now, operating as the founder and president Rebels Gaming that's based in Madrid.
In 2022, he opened the team's first-ever headquarters in the Spanish capital with a state-of-the-art complex for the players to train, play and hang out.
