Morena Ramoreboli has won the Botswana Premier League with Jwaneng Galaxy.

As a foreigner working in the Botswana Premier League, South African born coach Morena Ramoreboli knew that he'd have to be a class above the rest and he has most certainly done that this season by winning the championship.

Ramoreboli's Jwaneng Galaxy side wrapped up the Premiership title with one match to spare on Wednesday, beating Holy Ghost FC 2-0 to win their second title. Their first Premier League was secured in 2020 and they can now celebrate again and prepare to take part in next season's CAF Champions League.

In the first half of the season, Galaxy were unbeaten and this is where Ramoreboli was able to have a solid foundation going into the second half of the campaign. They lost just twice in the second half of the season, an impressive record which shows just how well Ramoreboli and his soldiers did throughout the campaign.

"Being a foreigner and coaching a team as ambitious Jwaneng Galaxy, you will always find yourself under pressure because they want to win trophies and be among the top teams in the country. So, when you achieve something this big, you end up saying it's through hard work and I think I would not have achieved this alone if I did not have the technical team, the players and management who have always been there for us. Honestly speaking, when management provides resources, it was up to us to make use of those resources in a proper way," Ramoreboli told the Siya crew.

"Let's be honest, winning the league will always give you special excitement and you will always feel happy for winning the championship. When you look at our players, from pre-season you could see that there is a lot of determination and they are willing to fight.

"Everything started during pre-season because we had to bring in some players. We brought in about eight players to complement the group we had. With all the players we brought in, the attitude was positive and they gave us exactly what we were looking for. To them, it's a big achievement because they are still young. For some of them, this is their first championship medal, so it was important that they win. This will give them belief that they can achieve bigger things."
