The SuperSport United DStv Diski Challenge youngsters wrapped up their memorable tour of the UK by watching the Community Shield clash between Arsenal and Manchester City, just a day after they had played out to a 4-4 draw with Queens Park Rangers' under-21 side.

SuperSport, led by head coach Thabo September, landed in London on Monday, July 31, and faced Bristol City the following day after a long trip. They were beaten 6-2, but took some valuable lessons which they took into their clash with QPR on Saturday afternoon.

Striker Keenan Bezuidenhout, who was on the scoresheet in the eight-goal thriller against QPR, explained what he has taken out from the two matches they played in the UK.

"The trip was an exciting one. It was a new experience. I feel like we all learnt new things and we enjoyed it. I was happy with my performance (in the matches), but there are things I need to improve on and it will come. I think something I can work on is the power and strength I have. The players here are physically stronger than us and that's something we can take and learn when we are back home."

While they were in the UK, the SuperSport youngsters got to go to the Tottenham Hotspur as well as the training grounds of the Arsenal academy. They watched Arsenal lifting the Community Shield at Wembley Stadium. Those are experiences Bezuidenhout will never forget.

"Being at facilities the ones we have been to is inspiring for us. It's things we all dream of as young boys and I think some of us are feeling excited to go back and start the new season because this is the level we want to be at. To be honest with you, everyone in the team feels that they have a chance to play at the highest level."
