What's the story?

Paying homage to the iconic features of City's fortress the Etihad Stadium, PUMA launch the Citizens 2023/24 home kit.

The kit is inspired by the jersey worn by the club during their first season at their current ground and the front graphic of the jersey takes inspiration from the Etihad Stadium's unique architecture.

Let's take a closer look at City's new home kit...

PUMA launches Man City's new kit

After 80 long years at Maine Road, Manchester City made the club-defining move just over five kilometres away to their new residence, the Etihad Stadium.

This move marked the start of a new era for the Citizens, defined by new records, new legends, and moments of greatness. The 2023/24 Home kit honours City's legacy in modern football, celebrating the Etihad Stadium and those who call it home.

As mentioned, the front graphic of the new Home jersey is inspired by the unique architecture of the Etihad Stadium, particularly the four giant turrets visible from the outside of the stadium that form tonal stripes on the jersey.

The postcode of the stadium is shown on the back of the neck to celebrate 20 years at City's new home and the jersey features a neat white V-neck collar that is inspired by the first kit used in the new stadium, the 2003/04 Home jersey.

For the kit launch, Man City fans joined Mark McCarthy - a Man City jersey collector to feature alongside the men’s and women’s first team players, including Erling Haaland and Jack Grealish.

"The jersey combines modern design elements with tributes to the club’s first season at the new ground, creating a unique and meaningful kit for the payers and the fans, celebrating the place they call home," says Marco Mueller, PUMA Senior Head of Product Line Management Teamsport Apparel, who added:

"The 20th anniversary of our move to the Etihad Stadium is a momentous occasion, celebrating the incredible rise of the club over that period. The new Home kit is a tribute to the incredible moments shared there and the unwavering support of the fans."

The new kit features cutting-edge technology to provide optimal performance and comfort on the pitch.

Engineered with ULTRAWEAVE fabric, the kit boasts a structured, 4-way stretch design that reduces weight and friction, allowing City's players at every level to move freely and comfortably on the pitch.

For Mzansi's Man City fans, the 2023/24 Home kit is available from 26 May at PUMA retail stores, PUMA.com, Sportsmans Warehouse, Totalsports and Studio 88.
