This week we start with the midweek games, which provided much excitement. On Tuesday, 05 December, the top-of-the-table clash between Mamelodi Sundowns and Baroka FC produced four goals, all scored by Sundowns. The Cape Town City and Maritzburg United encounter also produced six goals, with Maritzburg running out 4-2 winners.
It was great to see goals being scored, just when we thought the spectre of goalless draws were here to stay. Unfortunately, the game between Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United ended goalless. The goals drought seem to be ending and that’s a good thing for the spectators, who pay money to watch football.
