This week we start by congratulating Caster Semenya for winning the coveted Sport Star of the Year Award. Caster has been consistent in winning, having never returned home from competitions abroad without a medal. That on its own shows how dedicated she is and we salute her for that.
Bafana Bafana have failed to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup to be played in Russia. This was not for a lack of trying, but in a game of football there has to be a winner and unfortunately, we were on the losing side against Senegal on two occasions. Pointing fingers won’t do us any good as a nation. All we need to do is to go back to the drawing board and rectify our mistakes. To the boys, we want to say to them that this is not the end of the world. There’s always next time where we can always do better.
This weekend we have the Telkom Knockout semi-finals, where Bidvest Wits host Kaizer Chiefs and Polokwane City welcome Bloemfontein Celtic. We wish all four teams everything of the best as they battle for a spot in the final.
