Real Madrid legend Marcelo is reportedly set for an abrupt end to his spell at Olympiacos, with the club said to be fed up with the player just two months after his arrival.

The Brazilian joined the Greek giants as a free agent in September after bringing his glittering 16-season spell with Los Blancos to an end in June.

After being linked with a move to Premier League outfit Leicester City, the left-back signed a short one-year deal with the Pireas outfit, which is now reportedly set to be cut short.

According to Foot Mercato, Olympiacos are in the process of terminating the 34-year-old's contract due to his constant fitness issues and poor performances when he has featured.

The former Los Blancos man has played only 121 minutes of football in five matches across all competitions this season, with the South American having started none of those games.

It is also claimed that the former Fluminense star is not getting up to speed with manager Michel's demands, with the tactician deciding that the fullback is no longer part of his plans going forward.

Olympiacos now want to cut their losses on the player, who is their third highest earner behind Mali international Diadie Samassekou and former Real teammate James Rodriguez on £50 000 (R1 million) a week, according to Salary Sport.
