A chief executive officer of a league outside of Europe has confirmed that they are in talks to sign Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United.
The English press has speculated that Ronaldo's second stint at Old Trafford could come to an abrupt end following his bombshell interview with Piers Morgan. The player was highly critical of the club and his manager Erik ten Hag, and even accused some senior executives of betraying him and trying to force him out of The Theatre of Dreams.

The club issued a response on Friday to say the internal processes to respond to the issue have gotten underway. In the interim, it is widely suggested that he is now on unreconcilable terms with the Dutch manager and an exit in January can be expected, albeit his contract ends in June 2023.
In an interview with SportFM, Australian Professional Leagues CEO Danny Townsend revealed that he reached out to Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes about a potential deal. "We haven't been in Nani's ear, but we've certainly registered our interest in bringing [Ronaldo] to Australia.
"It's a long shot, but we certainly have a proposition here in Australia for him to consider. We're in dialogue, and we'll see where that goes.
In a separate interview with News Corp, the A-League executive added the the offer had been already submitted to the Portuguese super-agent.
“He (Ronaldo) said he wasn‘t getting any love and respect at Manchester United but we’ll certainly give him plenty of love and respect in Australia.
“We might not be able to compete financially with other offers but we can compete in other ways.”
