Another high-profile footballer has left European shores to join the Saudi Pro League ahead of the new season.

FC Barcelona have confirmed that midfielder Franck Kessie has completed a permanent move to Al-Ahli.

Kessie spent just one season with the Catalan giants, but has now found a new challenge after falling down the pecking order.

"FC Barcelona and Al-Ahli SC have agreed on a 12.5 million euro transfer for the player Franck Kessie," the club announced, via their website.

FC Barcelona want to take this opportunity to publicly thank Franck for his commitment and dedication, and to wish him all the best and every success in the future."

Ahli have now brought in a number of high-profile players, including Riyad Mahrez, Roberto Firmino, Allan Saint-Maximin and goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
