In another shocking incident of racism, a Brazil star had a banana thrown at him during a friendly against Tunisia on Tuesday night.

The South American nation walked away with a 5-1 win over the Eagles of Carthage in their match at the Parc des Princes, with Richarlison, Raphinha (twice), Neymar and Pedro all getting on the scoresheet.

However, the friendly in Paris was not without ugly scenes.

It was when Richarlison got the Selecao's second goal that he became a victim of racial abuse as he had a banana thrown at him, with his teammate Fred kicking the fruit away while other objects were also thrown on to the pitch.

Prior to kick-off, the five-time FIFA World Cup champions had posed with an anti-racism poster that contained the message: "Without our black players, we would not have stars on our shirts".

This came after Real Madrid and Selecao winger Vinicius Junior was racially abused by a panelist on a Spanish TV show who compared his behaviour when celebrating a goal to that of a monkey.

Just days later, a large number of Atletico Madrid fans were caught on film calling the same footballer a monkey ahead of the Madrid derby two weeks ago.

Following the South American nation's win over Tunisia, the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) issued a statement in which they condemned the racial abuse Richarlison faced, and urged for fierce punishment.

"After Brazil's second goal, a banana was thrown towards Richarlison," the statement read, per Sky Sports.

"The CBF reinforces its stance against discrimination and vehemently repudiates yet another episode of racism in football.

"Whether on or off the field, attitudes like this cannot be tolerated."

Richarlison, who joined Tottenham Hotspur in a big-money move in the most recent transfer window, also gave his opinion on the incident, urging for action to be taken by the game's leadership.

"As long as they keep 'blah blah blah' and don't punish, it's going to continue like this, happening every day and in every corner," the forward said, per Sky Sports

His new club also condemned the racial action, as can be seen below:
