Former TS Galaxy midfielder Mpho Mathekgane has completed his move to Zambia after signing with Zesco United.

Mathekgane has signed a short-term deal with Zesco after impressing the club during his assessment. The 29-year-old midfielder returns to Zambia for a second spell after playing for Forest Rangers during the 2020/21 season.

According to Mathekgane’s manager Rex Chanda, his client is currently processing his work permit before he can be available for selection with the Zambian giants.

"I scouted Mpho in 2019 and I discovered the South African. I am happy that he is back in Zambia to help Zesco win the league and hopefully play in the CAF Champions League."

"He has signed a short-term deal with an option to renew. He is currently waiting for his work permit before could start playing for Zesco this season," Chanda tells KickOff.

Mathekgane played for Free State Stars, Buya Msuthu, and TS Sporting among teams in South Africa before joining Forest Rangers in 2020.
