Kaizer Chiefs’ return to action will have consequential relevance for Keagan Dolly as his heavy package rolls down towards to the end.
Dolly sits in the class of top earners in domestic football on a package upwards of R7 million per annum.

However, that deal which he signed upon returning from French club Montpellier will expire at the end of June.
Having gone into the last six months of his contract, the 31-year-old is also within his rights to sign a pre-contract with another club.
For now, priority is saving his situation at Chiefs in the hope that what he delivers in what remains of the season is convincing enough for the club to offer him an extension, which is definite to be a lower package.
Dolly’s contribution will be the driving force behind whether he ultimately suffers Khama Billiat’s fate.
Billiat was also a top earner but with his numbers on the field dropping through injury concerns, he was offered a huge cut for a new deal which he chose not to take.
Chiefs have chosen not to open talks about Dolly who has played just five games and missed 15 due to injury concerns.
Through those five appearances, he has only provided a single assist and last scored 10 months ago against Stellenbosch.

The current season is now running the risk of becoming his worst at Chiefs considering that he scored six goals (plus five assists) from 31 games last season while he had eight goals (plus five assists) in 28 appearances in his first season.
Dolly’s rescue mission will come from 14 league games plus at least one Nedbank Cup match that Chiefs have remaining.
Chiefs travel to Royal AM for a league date on Sunday.
