Khama Billiat proved class is permanent with yet another five-star showing as Yadah FC defeated Chicken Inn 2-1 in the Castle Lager Premier League.

Yadah collected only their second win of the season and a first at home, battling to a 2-1 victory over rivals Chicken Inn, courtesy of a Billiat brace from the penalty spot.

The former Kaizer Chiefs attacker could have gotten a hat-trick had his free-kick not been denied by the crossbar in the 48th minute.

Nevertheless, the 33-year-old will be content with the three points and his own personal contribution.

It was a third goal in two consecutive matches and a fourth direct goal contribution for 'Gaucho' in the same period after he helped salvage a draw for The Miracle Boys with a goal and an assist in a 2-2 stalemate against Ngezi Platinum just days prior.

Saturday’s win also carries more sentiment for Billiat as it was the first time his mercurial display could be on show for the home supporters.

Previously, both Yadah and Billiat had failed to give their home supporters much to celebrate.

A first home game of the season ended in a goalless draw against Dynamo in March, before a heartbreaking 2-1 loss to Simba Bhora at the start of April.

Yadah played to another goalless draw at home, this time to Chegutu Pirates towards the end of April.

The recent spike in form will also help ease the pressure on the attacker’s shoulders.

After all, Billiat had endured a wave of criticism over his early struggles in the league. He failed to register a single goal or assist in Yadah’s first four matches.

Billiat’s recent showing will also please the powers that be at the club’s management who are now seeing the fruits of their heavy investment.

Yadah reportedly forked out monies in the region of $20 000 (+/-R376 588) for the highly-rated player, with a monthly salary of $5000 (+/-R94 147) reportedly offered to the ex-Kaizer Chiefs fan-favourite.
