Former Al Ahly boss Hossam El Badry has claimed that he is a better manager than Pitso Mosimane.

A former Al Ahly boss has now insisted he is a better coach than South Africa's Pitso Mosimane.

Hossam El Badry managed the Egyptian giants from August 2016 to May 2018, before going on to become the Egypt national team coach in 2019, serving the Pharaohs for a period of two years.

During his time at the Red Devils, El Badry won three league titles, one CAF Champions League trophy, a CAF Super Cup, as well as four domestic cups.

Mosimane, meanwhile, managed Al Ahly between October 2020 and June 2022, winning one league title, a domestic cup, two CAFCL trophies, and two Super Cups.

El Badry, however, believes his achievements surpass those of the former Mamelodi Sundowns boss, the Egyptian giants' current head coach Marcel Koller and another former Ahly boss Rene Weiler.

"I am better than Mosimane, Weiler and Koller, and better than me is Manuel Jose with Al Ahly and the Argentine Hector Cuper with the Egyptian national team," he told MBC Egypt, per Sport360.

"Everyone knows my period with Al Ahly, and I achieved a local record, and all the records the team achieved were during my time. Mosimane achieved championships with the club in a short time, but from my point of view, I am better than him."

The 64-year-old was then asked about current Egypt coach Hossam Hassan and how they compare, to which he replied: "In tournaments, I am better and I wish him success.

"I did not get my full opportunity with the national team, and I am better than Carlos Queiroz and Rui Vitoria."

Koller will have the opportunity to win his second CAFCL trophy after beating Tanzanian giants TP Mazembe 3-0 on Friday night to secure a place in the final, where they will take on Esperance Sportive de Tunis in a two-legged tie on 18 and 25 May.
