TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi has clarified why his club were granted a postponement while in the past Mamelodi Sundowns and AmaZulu could not get postponements following the passing away of Motjeka Madisha and Bonginkosi Ntuli.

There have been criticism on the PSL for lacking consistency in granting TS Galaxy a postponement of their DStv Premiership encounter against Sundowns on Wednesday, following past incidents where the Brazilians' upcoming game was not postponed following the unfortunate passing of Madisha in a car accident in December 2020.

Usuthu also had to carry on with business as usual with their fixture schedule following the passing of Ntuli in November last year.

The Rockets' team bus was involved in an accident on Tuesday, where they had a head on collision with a driver of a private car, who passed away on the spot but all the passengers, including the driver in Galaxy's bus were unharmed.

Sukazi wrote to the League to ask for a postponement of their midweek game against the Brazilians after he pleaded that the players were "traumatized" and his request was granted, as the match was called-off.

The former football agent has clarified that the cases of Madisha and Ntuli had their own special circumstances.

"When making my requests, I asked certain questions to the league as to how they dealt with certain situations in the past. In my case I asked about Madisha and AmaZulu," Sukazi said on SABC News

"When I asked how they dealt with it, the League told me that 'Look, in Madisha's case', coincidentally (Sundowns) we were going to play against TS Galaxy, maybe it was two or three days before our match against Sundowns. They said, 'Sundowns wrote to the League and advised the League that the player has passed on, however, the family is disputing the fact that he's no more and they wanted to conduct DNA tests.

"So the League was hard-pressed to postpone a game when the family of the person who is said to be deceased say 'Our son is alive'. If you remember, it took a month, he was buried a month or so later. I also asked recently with Ntuli, why was it not postponed? The League advised again that AmaZulu were offered a postponement but the Chairman of AmaZulu, after due consideration came back and said, 'No' they don't need a postponement," he added.

Sukazi also confirmed that Galaxy's upcoming league game against Richards Bay on Saturday evening at King Zwelithini Stadium will continue as scheduled.
