Former Kaizer Chiefs attacker Khama Billiat is reportedly training with SuperSport United in a bid to get a contract. KickOff looks at the top five free agents hunting for clubs.

Xola Mlambo

Mlambo parted ways with TS Galaxy in November last year under seemingly acrimonious circumstances after he initially indicated that he could not get his clearance from the club, although he was later given blessings to join a club of his choice by Chairman Tim Sukazi.

Mlambo famously spent one-and-half years at Orlando Pirates before he was signed by AmaZulu in 2020.

The 32-year-old joined the Rockets in July 2022 and made 25 appearances.

Tercious Malepe

Malepe was recently released by AmaZulu after he joined the club in the 2020/21 season from Ukrainian side FC Minaj.

The utility player, who captained Amajita at the 2017 U20 FIFA World Cup and also skippered the U-23 side at the 2020 Olympic Games, was reportedly close to joining Kaizer Chiefs after leaving his Ukrainian side but Amakhosi instead opted for Cole Alexander after they hired Stuart Baxter.

Nkanyiso Zungu

Zungu has been without a club since Orlando Pirates opted not to renew his contract after it expired in June last year.

The left-footed midfielder was loaned out to Richards Bay in the 2022/23 season but could not get a permanent contract after making 12 appearances.

Thabo Qalinge

Qalinge was part of a player exodus at AmaZulu at the end of the 2022/23 season and has not been able to find a team to date.

The former Orlando Pirates attacker spent almost a year without a club after he parted ways with SuperSport United in July 2020 and was given another chance by Usuthu, who signed him in March 2021.

The speedy attacker featured prominently under former coaches Benni McCarthy and Brandon Truter.

Aubrey Ngoma

Ngoma is also in the club hunt after he was released by SuperSport United at the end of last season.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns winger also had the ordeal of spending seven months without a club after parting ways with the Brazilians in June 2021, following the expiry of his loan deal at Cape Town City.

Reports have emerged that Cape Town Spurs have shown interest in the well-travelled winger, who also had a stint at Orlando Pirates.
