High-flying Soweto giants Orlando Pirates have signed a lucrative multi-year endorsement deal with luxury hotel company Marriott Bonvoy. Here's a look!

The story

On Tuesday, Marriott Bonvoy confirmed that they are now the official accommodation partner for Pirates in a deal which will see many of the club's supporters gain VIP access to some of Marriot International's best hotels. 

In a statement, chief sales & marketing officer of the company said: "The partnership with Orlando Pirates is an exciting opportunity for us to provide Marriott Bonvoy members and football enthusiasts with VIP access and money-can’t-buy experiences.

"Orlando Pirates is one of South Africa’s biggest sporting brands and together, we look forward to creating some unforgettable moments for Marriott Bonvoy members, inspired by the thrill and excitement Orlando Pirates games.

Joseph Bertrand, the brand and sponsorship manager of the Bucs, said: "We are very excited as a Club to be associated with such an iconic worldwide travel programme that is Marriott Bonvoy.

"Orlando Pirates is proud to become Marriott Bonvoy’s first sports club partner on the African continent, and to be joining a list of renowned sports brands that are already associated with programme. We will strive to unlock some great experiences for the Orlando Pirates fans throughout this relationship."

Former Ezimnyama Ngenkani star Phumudzo Manenzhe has been named the ambassador of the partnership, while the relationship with the brand and team will see fans rewarded with exclusive hotel offers, which will in turn allow supporters to have access to VIP suites, grandstand seats, and other related perks.

Did you know?

Manchester United also seems to have a partnership with the company, with the likes of Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot, and Tom Heaton all  having been seen participating in fun promotional work.
