Davido gets World Cup call-up?

Nigerian artist Davido has reportedly scored a gig at the closing ceremony of the 2022 World Cup. Check it out!

What Happened?

Stephen Hung, who is one of the organizers of the event, confirmed on his Instagram page that the musician was getting a call up.

 “So happy my bro #Davido confirmed he will be performing at the World Cup Qatar closing ceremony. Can’t wait to see him there.”

The singer had initially cancelled all bookings following the death of his son, Ifeanyi Adeleke in October.

One of the events that Davido turned down was the debut festival titled 'Are We African Yet (A.W.A.Y)' which was  held in the United States of America. 

The musician has been away from the public eye since but it appears that he may make a comeback for the closing ceremony. 

The World Cup’s closing ceremony will take place on December 18.

Nigerian singer, Kizz Daniel also performed at at the World Cup thrilling the crowd to his hit song ‘Buga’ at the World Cup Fans Festival in Qatar.

Davido was featured on the official FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Official Soundtrack “Hayya Hayya (Better Together)” along with the talented Trinidad Cardona and AISHA, making him the first Nigerian singer featured in a FIFA World Cup single.

Did you know?

Davido challenged his friends and fans to send one million naira each to his bank account on 17 November 2021.
