Man Utd legend gushes over 'peaceful and spiritual' Mzansi

A Manchester United legend has confessed that South Africa is among his favourite holiday destinations as the country is "peaceful and spiritual." Here's a look.

The story

United's former captain Roy Keane, who is considered to be among the club's greatest skippers of all time, has revealed that he would rather be on vacation in Mzansi over most places.

A dazzling country with a variety of options to explore!

Whichever way you look at it, this is a huge compliment for South Africa, which has continuously received acclaim for its world-class tourism industry and tourist destinations. Cape Town alone already gets an insane amount of clout, thanks to the iconic Table Mountain,  dazzling beaches and coastline, as well as world-class shopping centres, including the V&A Waterfront and Canal Walk.

Football lovers from across the globe can watch matches in state-of-the-art stadiums which famously hosted the monumental 2010 FIFA World Cup, including the the FNB Stadium (affectionately known as Soccer City, the Cape Town Stadium, and Moses Mabhida in Durban, which also has the SkyCar, offering tourist a tropical aerial view of the Indian Ocean.

Mzansi's commercial hub Johannesburg is a city Keane has previously visited with the Red Devils back in 1993, where the group met the nation's first democratic president Nelson Mandela. That particular generation included club legends and cult heroes such as Steve Bruce, Dion Dublin, Peter Schmeichel, and David Beckham, among others.

While Jozi may not be as aesthetically pleasing as the likes of Durban and Cape Town, it does hold a richness that no other city can match. Famed for being the heart of the liberation movement, the city has a lot of historic attractions such as museums, parks, and other symbolic institutions. It is also the place where you'll find a wide variety of African wildlife, along with the Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces.
