It is no secret that former Orlando Pirates star Lennox Bacela had an outgoing lifestyle. Here's a look back at his enviably larger-than-life lifestyle.

The story

Having gone under the radar since his retirement in 2016, the ex-centre forward remains greatly remembered by many in the South African topflight. The Knysna-born man was known for his happy-go-lucky attitude during the peak of his powers and that was a spirit he even carried away from the pitch as well.

Bacela had, for a lack of a better word, a glamorous and glitzy lifestyle as he would often be spotted at top-class restaurants and hotels, as well as other upscale events including horse racing and polo. Boat cruises, holiday resorts, and backstage access at some of the biggest shows also seemed to be his thing.

The player now appears to have slowed down on that life, or at least stopped posting about it as often as he used to back in his heyday.

Did you know?

Although his reputation received a huge boost when he joined Pirates in 2013, Bacela was more prolific at Bloemfontein Celtic than with the Buccaneers, having netted 21 times for Phunya Sele Sele and registered only 14 goals for Ezimnyama Ngenkani, per Transfermarkt.

Bacela made his topflight debut former Cape Town outfit Santos back in 2008 and ended his career after a stint with the University of Pretoria in 2016.

Your thoughts, please?

How would you sum up Bacela's playing career and what are your fondest memory of the often polarizing baller?
