It was started in 1976 as the Rand Daily Mail wine festival. In the 1980s, it grew to be the Business Day festival and finally stepped into the 2000s as Wine X when Business Day partnered with RMB (Rand Merchant Bank).
Now, it attracts over 10 000 attendees every year.
“Since then, the festival has become the largest wine festival in the Southern Hemisphere,” says wine X show director Michael Fridjhon.
