Baking means 'sister time!' for them.
To everyone else in the family, learning how to bake is a rite of passage. Holly and Mimi Rey were taught how to bake by their grandmother from a very young age and now they have a baking show that captures their magic together.
Mimi admits, "Holly is actually the most fun person to bake with because she is strict and fun all in one."
Easter is even more exciting because it is when they are guaranteed to be together as Holly, like most people, considers the holiday weekend to be "all about being with family."
She tells Drum that when she was growing up, she used to make themed cookies and package gifts for teachers in celebration of holidays such as the Easter weekend.
The musician shares the Easter bunny biscuits recipe as "it's a really fun recipe and fun for kids [especially as they get to] make shapes and choose animals" to make the biscuits out of, exploring their creativeness in the process.
Method
Preheat oven at 175 degrees.
In one large mixing bowl, beat butter and sugar together.
Once butter and sugar are creamed together, add eggs and vanilla essence.
In a separate bowl, sift flour, cocoa and bicarb together and then fold into the butter mixture.
Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Roll dough until it is even thickness.
Cut with any bunny shaped cookie cutter.
Place your bunnies on a well-greased baking tray and bake for 15-20 minutes.
Enjoy!
