In a double eviction shocker, housemates’ favourite and “baby of the house” Adindu “Zino” Asuzu and the sometimes-bad boy Luthando “B.U” Mthembu are the latest housemates to be evicted from Big Brother Mzansi.

Leaving the house the day after his 22nd birthday, Zino told the Big Brother Mzansi host Lawrence Maleka that it was a privilege and “amazing” to have been on the show.

When asked who he was going to miss from the House, he said it was Yoli.

"I really appreciated her. She was amazing and she gave me an older sister, I’ve never had that before.”

The Joburg-based Umlazi Durbanite told Lawrence he believed some housemates such as Nale were playing the game quite well.

About his journey on the show, B.U said he has learned a lot of lessons along the way.

“But one thing about me is I’m going to be me. I wasn’t shaken at any point. If it makes sense to me, it doesn’t have to make sense to anybody else.”

When asked what was happening between him and Venus, the self-described ‘Zulu Vegan’ simply said, “Everything.” His biggest regret was that he didn’t cook more vegan meals.

Although he left the house prematurely, he tells Drum that he has no regrets at all.

“I’m not happy to be walking away from the R2 million but I’m excited that I was able to challenge myself in that environment,” he says.

"Everything that happened was meant to be. Going to the house I wanted to experience myself through a platform like that and I learned a lot about myself.”

He is happy to have received exposure by having his music played on the show.

“My music got played and gave me exposure. I just appreciate people hearing me out and what I’m about.”

His strategy coming into the house was to not expose his full talents at once.

"That was my plan, but I feel people didn’t get to see my strengths and full potential,” he says.

“I’m good at acting and singing. I’m good at cooking. I didn’t get to do at all that. I wanted to wait and then surprise people with something new. I was still observing or sussing everyone out and did not get fully into the game like the others.”

He is happy with the way he handles things.

“I used to be a forceful person with a big and bold personality and have people know me and what I’m about immediately when I walk into a room. I had to learn to step back and slowly introduce myself.”

Born in Umlazi, B.U left his corporate career after the death of a family member.

“I am a full-time rapper and actor. I’m an artist,” he says.

“I quit my job in corporate in August to give everything into the music after I lost a family member,” he says.

“It was tragic and highly publicised because the relative is a public figure. I decided life is too short to not do what I love. I decided to risk it all.” B.U had been working at a bank as a digital researcher.

“I had a good well-paying job with benefits. I worked my way up from a promoter and it took me two and half years, but I had to leave to pursue my dream after a friend suggested I join Big Brother,” he says.

B.U is no stranger to show business, he acts on two Netflix films, Happiness Ever After and Entangled, and has done a few adverts.

He gave himself the name B.U which is an abbreviation for Be You.

Now that he has gotten his foot into the entertainment industry, he can fully explore his dream.

His next move is to release his single and music video titled The Packager featuring rapper Reason, who also goes by the name Sizwe Alakine.

“My next plan is to go hard,” he says.

“I have a music video with Reason coming out. I have done a lot of work. After that, I will release my five-track EP titled Kill TJ

“TJ is a name I grew up being called. I was very cocky and arrogant then, so I am officially killing TJ with this project and introducing BU who is calmer,” he says.

B.U is sad to be leaving Venus behind who he connected with and seemed to have a potential relationship on the horizon.

“Venus is my ride or die. Her weirdness complimented mine,” he says.

When he was up for eviction along with other contestants, he prepared Venus for a potential exit.

“I don’t think she was surprised; we had spoken about it. I pulled her to the side, we had our little moment. We were both hoping it would not happen but when it did, it was emotional.” When going to the house he only had plans of walking away with the R2 million.

“I didn’t see myself meeting a person like that. I was going into the game with me wanting to be in the house for the money and not to build something special with anyone,” he says.

If Venus does not win the prize, B.U would love to see Gash1 leave next.

“He plays like a chess player,” he says.

“Gash1 is strategic, and he is one of the strongest players. The best thing to do is get the strongest people out first. He is playing the housemates and yet winning over the viewers and letting them see what he wants to see. He is smarter than what the housemates think," he adds.
