All she did was post a date, a 30-second snippet and the world went into meltdown mode.

It's finally happening – singer and media mogul Rihanna Robyn Fenty (34) is dropping new music.

She made the announcement just a couple of days ahead of the release date, sending fans into a frenzy.

She released her eighth studio album, Anti, in 2016 and has been focusing on her businesses since then.

She's made the Forbes billionaires list and, recently, she had a baby with her boyfriend rapper, A$AP Rocky, and introduced Fenty beauty and Savage X Fenty, which quickly became the first inclusive brand that catered to marginalised groups and empowered many globally.

Her new song, Lift Me Up, will be released on 28 October and it is part of the Black Panther soundtrack.

The self-made billionaire will also be making a return to the stage as she has been announced as the Super Bowl headliner in 2023. The halftime show is one of the most desirable slots in music and she's been making headlines since the announcement.

The Pon De Replay star, who was discovered at the age 16 by rapper Jay-Z, has grown into a fashion icon and businesswoman. But fans have been clamouring for her return to music.
