The competition is drawing closer to an end and with only five contestants left, Big Brother will soon announce who is walking away with R2 million.
Contestants Terry, Sis Tamara and Thato did not make it to the final five and were all evicted from the house, having received the lowest number of votes from viewers. This means that the top five going into next week’s Big Brother Mzansi finale are Themba, Tulz, Libo, Mphowabadimo and Gash1.
Upon her exit from the house, Gugu “Terry Treasure” Bonga (26) told Big Brother Mzansi host Lawrence Malek that in the house she almost lost her sanity. “I think I’ve lost my sanity, but I’m back. It’s psychological warfare, it’s all about mental strength more than anything.”
Reflecting on her journey, the adult content creator, makeup artist, and rapper from Joburg said she had fun in the house. “My highlight was the first day. That set the tone for me, knowing that so many strong personalities were in the house. That tested my true personality.”

Speaking to Drum, Terry says she is happy to go back to her “normal life” away from the pressure of the competition.
“I actually don’t feel horrible at all. I am glad I lasted this long, and I am in a great and positive spirit. This week was Wafa Wafa, and there was no need to be strategic. I was content with whatever decision because I have come this far.”
She hopes Mpho will walk away with the R2 million prize money “Mphowabadimo is holding it down for the ladies and she has such a great support system, and I would love for her to win. She has stood up for possible eviction every week but made it through.”
Terry says Libo was her least favourite housemate and maybe she will see another version of him when he leaves the house. “I won’t lie, Libo is my least favourite. I think every move he has made hasn’t been genuine. He doesn’t really care who catches the bullet as long as he saves himself. It’s one thing to be strategic or be selfish is another,” she says.
“He wasn’t playing nice at all. Once he didn’t need you, he dumped you.”
A few days before her eviction Terry got into a conflict with Tulz who confessed to stealing her ribs. “The ribs saga was a mess,” she laughs.
“But it got sorted. It turns out Tulz was the mastermind, and they were waiting for me to react to the stolen ribs so I can look bad. I also eventually heard that Gah and Lino participated but only Tulz came forward to the eviction. That was very shady of them, but I got over it.”
In the house, Terry developed a friendship with Sis Tamara who once betrayed her and did not save her when given the opportunity. “Sis Tamara gave me a good run for my money and Themba towards the end. I saw a genuine friendship in her. But I was disappointed when I was up for eviction, and she had a chance to save me but didn’t. But I did not dwell on it, I quickly got over it because it meant that I needed to work harder to stay in the house,” she says.
“But Themba also gave me a good run for my money. I don’t know if he was lucky or just really good at playing the game.”

The Eh Yazi rapper is taking a break from music and wants to get back into making adult content on OnlyFans instead. “I am putting the music on hold for now. I need to think about what direction I want to take and build the aesthetic first and grow my brand before I go back,” she says.
“I am definitely going back to OnlyFans. I missed it so much. In the house, I was dying to have my phone to create some content,” she says.
She has been judged on social media for being in the adult entertainment industry, but Terry is not ashamed. “That was my main source of income. I’m looking forward to my numbers growing. I am very confident about what I do. If I could, I’d put up a billboard with my OnlyFans account. If people judged me in the house, they didn’t say it to me directly.”
Terry started posting religiously on OnlyFans at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I previously told myself that I would never do OnlyFans but I needed to make money. Once I started, last year around April, and I could not believe the amount of money I made. I decided this is what I want to do, I enjoy it and I make more money to live a good life,” she says.
In the next few months Terry will enrol for a yoga instructing course and will tie that in with sexual wellness coaching and health, she adds.
“I’m curious to see how that will work out. I can’t wit for a new challenge.”
