This week another two bite the dust in a shocking eviction on Big Brother Mzansi. Thobeka ‘Venus’ Mtshali and Naledi ‘Nale’ Mogadime (24) are proof that no one is safe in the Big Brother Mzansi house. Also, up for eviction this week were Gash1, Thato, Nale, and Mphowabadimo, who escaped the chop.

Pretoria beauty, Nale wasn’t nominated for eviction by anyone but ended up in danger after Libo used his Head of House veto power to nominate her, which shocked was viewers as the two had formed a close friendship on the show.

“It sucks,” she told Big Brother host Lawrence Maleka during the eviction.

“Libo and I, we did our chores together, we slept in the same area, we spoke about everything. And now you’re gonna put by a** on the chopping block? That is dark”

She tells Drum that Libo betrayed her trust.

“I feel betrayed, Libo is like a big brother to me. Considering that I was not nominated, what he did rocked me. I had to sit with myself and realise that we are not the same, he was just playing a game like everyone else.”

She has since accepted that her journey in the house has come to an end.

“It may be done in the house, but my journey in the real world begins and I am looking forward to it,” she tells Drum.

Some people may think she is faking the excitement of being evicted, but she is genuinely happy.

“My purpose has been fulfilled. Staying somewhere longer than you should do more harm than good. I will make my 2 million in no other way,” she says.

While other housemates play a tough game, Nale says she is not much of a strategist.

“I am here outside of the house because of my lack of strategizing. I noticed that the people in the house were very strategic in the way they moved, and the things they said. My strategy was to get to know and understand everyone deeply. If we understand each other, what could stand between you and me?"

In the house, Nale hardly got into any altercations and kept her poker face.

“I am slow to anger. There must be a way we reach an agreement without explaining. It didn’t make sense to get into any conflicts with anyone in the house. I didn’t want to fall out with people I would most likely get among with if they were not on the house.”

She also stayed away from any romantic relationships unlike some of the housemates.

“I stayed away from kissing anyone intentionally. I made it my prime goal to stay away from men, they have a weird way of overpowering your narrative. I didn’t want to put myself in a position where people say I get things based on my looks, a relationship, or pretty privilege.”

Nale in fact hopes that one of the ladies walks away with the R2 million prize money.

“If Terry, Thato, or Mphowabadimo get it, my heart and would be so happy,” she says.

Not wanting to bad-mouth anyone or seem bitter, Nale says Themba was her least favorite housemate.

“It was a bit hard living with Themba. He is a night owl, and we were very different. When this is over, maybe he and I might get along, who knows. But I like soft and silly humour, and he likes dark humour. You just never know if he is playing his game or taking a personal jab away,” she says.

When they did get along at times, Nale says “it was glorious”.

Now her next move is to focus on her career as a model and possibly branch into acting.

“I am passionate hun. I look forward to seeing what the world has to offer. For the longest time, I was a model without vocalizing myself and having a voice. Now because of Big Brother, people can see that I can talk,” she says.

“I want to work with young women-based projects. Maybe pull an acting gig or two.” Nale has loves acting but struggled to get roles in the past.

“I have very little acting experience and would love to grow that muscle. Locally, I tried to audition for the longest time, and I wouldn’t get booked and I lived with that insecurity of thinking I can’t act until I landed an international role last year.” She can’t say much about the film, but it is due for release soon.

“I would love to do more movies and just show my versatility,“ she says.
