It has been a tough week for South Africans and the entertainment industry.

This follows the death of rapper Rikhado “Riky Rick” Muziwendlovu Makhado, who passed away on Wednesday, 23 February.

He was 34. Since his death, South Africans have taken to social media to share memories and honour his legacy in every way imaginable.

Since the news broke of his passing, Big Zulu's record label Inkabi Records was up all night putting their pain into a tribute song to their brother and friend titled Lala Ngoxolo (Rest in Peace).

The song was created by Big Zulu, Mduduzi Ncube, Siya Ntuli and produced by Xowla.

The song starts with a recording of Riky Rick saying, "It's an exchange of energies, it's an exchange of love, we will catch you guys on the other side, it's your boy Riky Rick, if you never hear from me again, I love you, God bless you. Goodnight."

Then the first verse lyrics encourages individuals to be strong despite the pain.

"As I sing this song I know you are where you belong with a smile on your face."

The second verse is Big Zulu's ode to the Sondela artist.

"Shun'wenkabi, Baba kule industry umngani usilahleke"

He asks God to open the gates of heaven and protect Riky Rick.

Prior to releasing the song, Big Zulu shared a heartfelt saying goodbye to "Licky" as he called him.

The song is available on YouTube.
