He seems to be living up to his own rap lyrics. When music mogul and entrepreneur Jay Z said 'I'm not a businessman, I’m a business, man', he meant it.
The rapper, real name Shawn Cory Carter (51), recently went into partnership with Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessey (LVMH) when he sold them 50% of his luxury champagne brand, Ace of Spades.
He initially bought the Armand de Brignac brand, also known as the ‘Ace of Spades’ due to its logo, in 2014 after he featured the champagne in the video for his 2006 single ‘Show Me What You Got’.
LVMH will be responsible for the global distribution of the Armand de Brignac brand, which is produced in the champagne wine region of France.
In a statement released by the champagne brand on Twitter, they said that the partnership reflected the shared vision for the brand.
“Shawn JAY-Z Carter is pleased to announce a partnership with Moët Hennessy as they acquire a 50% stake in Armand de Brignac. The partnership reflects a shared vision between Moët Hennessy and Shawn JAY-Z Carter for the future of this iconic Maison.”
