Let's talk about sex, baby - and they will.

Known for her funny bone, comedian Tumi Morake is turning things up a notch as she hosts a new show with celebrity couples from this Sunday.

Sunday Sexy Love features much loved celebrity couples like Boity and Anton, Bontle and Priddy Ugly and Ntokozo Mbambo and Nqubeko Mbatha sharing and opening up about their relationships.

They'll talk about the good, the bad and the challenging. Sex and intimacy are also covered in the show.

Speaking to Drum from Atlanta in the USA, Tumi says she's excited about the show because she loves people and she loves love, so this show is a combination of both.

"Viewers can expect access to the love life of the stars. A moment to peak through the window [of] the unfiltered love, pure fun, and black beauty at its max. We usually associate sex and celebrity with scandal, so for a change we get to enjoy the combo in a positive light. It’s grown people fun."

In her illustrious career, Tumi has hosted many a show, but says no show has ever made her "hot under the collar" like this.

"It also challenged me to dig deeper, to channel my own sexy somewhere deep in there. And I actually had uninterrupted focus with this show. I really enjoyed this process in its entirety."

People often complain that a lot of reality shows that are currently in circulation portray black people in a negative light, whether it's aggression, broken homes or for having multiple partners.

These shows do not always hit the right spots with viewers, but Tumi says theirs will do the exact opposite.

"We are progressive, kinky and can’t be boxed. Our love isn’t packaged in bloomers and suits and baby kisses. Black love can be active, fun, naughty, adventurous. We need to celebrate that. A great reminder also that celebrities are human and vulnerable too. Their relationships aren’t just one-dimensional tabloid entertainment."

What's next for funny Tumi?

"I’m working on a pilot project in the US. I’ll be performing at the New York Comedy festival in November. We are also getting our class of 22 ready at our St. Aquinas College campuses. Always working towards that 100 percent pass rate, you know. Eternally proud of that baby. Counting down to the release of Honeymoon feature - coming early 2023. Working on the sequel now, as a lead actress and extending my hat to co-write and creative producer."

On the spicy talk show, viewers get to know well-known and in-love celebrities even better by exploring their romantic relationships intimately and how they keep the spark alive.

The guests on Sunday Sexy Love will also include Latoya and Lebo, Gogo Maweni and Sabelo Mgube as well as Mpho Wabadimo and Themba.

“Our Sundays at Mzansi Magic are known for their reality and drama content, and we are thrilled to add an original, themed talk show to this line-up. We pride ourselves in giving our viewers a bird’s eye view into our celebrities’ lives and this show will be a totally different lens all together," says Shirley Adonisi, Director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net.

For 10 weeks the show will feature the couples talking openly and anecdotally about their love stories – the good, the bad and the spectacular – and sharing what the secrets are to keep their relationship going.

The show is only going to hit the screens this weekend but it's already getting some not so positive feedback as fans worry about Christian guests talking about sexy things.

Some South Africans on social media are torn, some in support of the show and showing that being a Christian doesn't mean you can't be sexually liberated. Others see it as a misalignment of brands.
