She's never been confused about it: she was cute when she was a little bigger and she is still cute now with a little less weight.

“Unfortunately, smaller bodies are more privileged," the actress said recently after sharing a tongue-in-cheek video about men who have known you for years suddenly sliding into your DMs after you lose weight.

Amber Riley looks bemused in the Instagram video, to which she later added the comment, "It's been weird and uncomfortable experiencing that [smaller bodies are more privileged], and if I'm being honest, kind of nice not having to defend my existence or make space for myself all the time.

"I still often think I don't belong in certain rooms and I'm still not skinny. I feel many ways about it that I'm not really ready to discuss, but I do think it's worth mentioning.

"All I know is all bodies are beautiful, love yourself NOW, and my girl @ceceolisa always said 'don't wait on your weight' (sic).

"Y'all inspire me. Oh, and so we're clear, I was fine af then and I'm fine af now, I can still pull yo [number] if I wanted to.

"Fat girls ain't out here beggin' for love and attention like y'all would like to believe."

In a recently aired interview with YouTuber Natalie Manual Lee, the Glee alum opened up about growing up poor and battling with her mental health.

“There are so many struggles I went through as a child that have prepared for me now,” said the 36-year-old singer who sometimes goes mononymously as Riley.

“I'm grateful to be able to tell my story and I hope my sharing really helps someone out there," said the actress who stars alongside Raven Goodwin in 2022 Lifetime thriller Single Black Female.

“This part of the convo [below] was particularly interesting to me. Having reverence and appreciating the struggle.”
