Wedding bells are ringing in Hollywood after Empire actress Gabourey Sidibe announced her engagement to boyfriend Brandon Frankel.
Gabby (37) took to Instagram to share the news with the world.
In the post, the star shared a video of herself flashing her engagement ring while her partner shouted, “I put a ring on it!”.
“It’s weird that people think we’re already married but I guess our hearts and intentions for each other are just that clear to see,” the actress captioned the post.
“My BFF proposed and now I get to hold him forever.”
Gabby also went on to describe the ways in which her fiancé makes her happy including that he’s always ready to save the day whenever she’s feeling stressed or overwhelmed.
“Every moment with him is a joy. He is the partner I thought I was too independent to need,” she said.
The news come just a year after the couple decided to go public with their relationship.

Brandon also took to his social media to share the news, gushing over Gabby and his excitement at spending the rest of his life with her.
“I asked my best friend to marry me, and she said ‘YES!’ So excited to spend the rest of my life with the most amazing, hilarious, beautiful, and inspiring woman,” he wrote.
“I couldn’t imagine a life without you. We make the best team, and we make everything fun and memorable. I liked it so I put a [ring] on it. Love you to the moon and back.”
The star made her acting debut in the 2009 film, Precious which led to her earning numerous awards and nominations in the industry.
Her most recent role was being the feisty and fashionable Becky Williams in BET’s Empire. She also stars alongside Janelle Monae in recently released film, Lady Antebellum.

The couple received well wishes from various celebrities including Gabby's former Empire co-star Vivica Fox. The couple joins the growing list of couples heading to the aisle as former Glee star and musician Amber Riley also recently announced her engagement to her boyfriend and entrepreneur, Desean Black.
